Start with one category, then follow its items through the sub-folder and into the matching row. Sorting Points come from sorting; Completion Points come from filling a row. Understanding those two rewards is more useful than trying to clear the whole Trash screen immediately.
Deleted Wiki has three layers of organisation, and each solves a different part of the job. An item can leave the deletion log without reaching its final row. If the Trash is shrinking but the wiki still looks unfinished, that is the first distinction to check.
Follow the three-stage sorting loop
The seven Category folders are Weapons, Armor, Consumables, Materials, Skills & Status, Interface and Curios. Think of a category as the broad department. Inside it, the Sub-Category narrows the subject; inside that, an Item Folder or row holds copies of one exact item.
- Pick an item from the Trash and place it in its matching Category folder.
- Open that category. Route the item to the correct Sub-Category.
- Open the Sub-Category and put the item on its exact row.
- Finish the remaining copies on that row to earn its Completion Point.
A sword example is useful because it shows all three decisions. Weapons is the department, Swords is the shelf, and the individual named sword is the final row. Recognising that an icon looks like a weapon is enough for the first move, but it does not identify the particular sword row. Treat the later steps as a separate pass rather than assuming the category drop finishes the restoration.
The official description lists 10,324 items and 631 pixel icons. Those are different counts: many copies share an icon. Looking for more than ten thousand unique pictures would make the task seem much more complicated than it is. Learn a small group of recognisable items, then use the tools you unlock to deal with repeated copies.
Know which points you are earning
| Reward | What earns it | What it helps buy |
|---|---|---|
| Sorting Points | Sorting items; in 1.0.3, AutoRestore also pays for each item it files | Userscripts and their upgrades that ask for Sorting Points |
| Completion Points | Filling a whole item row | The stronger userscripts priced in Completion Points |
If an upgrade needs Completion Points, sweeping a large number of loose items into departments may not solve the shortage. Open a Sub-Category and finish rows. If it needs Sorting Points, check the sorting stage and the current AutoRestore behaviour instead. The Upgrades page displays each script's currency requirement; read that before deciding which unfinished work to tackle.
This gives you a practical way to recover from a stalled session: identify the currency you need, find the work that produces it, and complete that work. There is no need to guess a universal purchase order or farm a fictitious extra resource.
Use item descriptions when icons become ambiguous
The opening task is meant to involve recognising icons. Later, the Item Description userscript provides the item's folder path. Patch 1.0.1 removed an accidental free preview of that path from hover tooltips when the script was not installed.
If a launch-day video appears to show a full destination without buying Item Description, it may be demonstrating the old bug. Check whether you actually own the script before treating a missing path as a display problem. For a genuine font-size problem, use the separate display guide.
The developer's website says wrong drops do not carry a penalty in the ordinary sorting loop and that Ctrl+Z can undo actions. That makes a small, controlled attempt a reasonable way to learn where an unfamiliar item belongs. It does not mean a wrong placement is harmless to every achievement: the Recognized on Sight challenge has a streak condition, so practise before beginning that attempt.
Upgrade the bottleneck you can see
There is no confirmed fastest purchase order covering every starting state. A more dependable choice is to name what is slowing your current session.
- If you cannot tell where things belong, examine the description and placement tools.
- If you recognise the items but make too many repeated drags, inspect the Multiselect upgrades.
- If you have reached AutoRestore, check both the copies-per-item and different-items-per-use limits.
- If a purchase is blocked by its currency, return to the matching sorting or row-completion task.
Keep the name of a script separate from the result you want. “Automation” includes several tools with different limits. AutoRestore's capacity and Multiselect Items' capacity can bottleneck each other; increasing only one does not guarantee a larger batch. The AutoRestore guide explains the current interaction without inventing upgrade prices.
If you want a deliberately manual run, decide that before optimising for speed. The game's challenges change what you are trying to accomplish, so the fastest way to empty the log is not necessarily the route you want for a particular challenge.
Read the wiki as it returns
Progress also restores the Main Page and the Item Vault, and brings messages to your Talk Page. The narrative is spread across the site's own pages and forums. After completing a meaningful chunk of work, check those pages rather than viewing the game as only a counter that has to reach zero.
Plains of Embercraft: Online is the fictional MMO inside Deleted Wiki. Its publisher pages, subscription offers and old forum posts are part of that setting. They are not instructions to buy a real MMO subscription, and a world illustration is not a screenshot of a second playable game.
Once the main game is complete, the official description lists Category Sprint, True Janitor and Hacker, plus a hidden mode. Finishing the visible sorting does not reveal every optional interaction. If your goal is the extra story and hidden achievements, move to the Founders and hidden-page guide when you are ready for spoilers.
If the work is done but an achievement is missing
First separate ordinary completion from the specific achievement's condition. Several launch-version achievement problems were fixed in 1.0.2 and 1.0.3. A finished row, a cleared log, an installed script and a completed story interaction are four different states.
Update the game before restarting a completed run. In particular, the developer says the hidden final-item fix can trigger when an already affected save is opened again. A new save is not the first troubleshooting step. The achievement fixes guide sorts the known cases into the checks that actually matter.
